Travel has a way of changing how we remember ordinary things.

A slice of orange in a glass. Bowls of olives. The soft blue of evening settling over old streets. Somewhere in Italy, we learned that meals didn't have to be hurried, and that sometimes the best part of the day was simply sitting together before dinner, with nowhere else to be.
